In other words: “Experience the world of Stranger Things from the never-before-seen perspective of Vecna as he explores unknown realities, forms the hive mind, and enacts his plan for revenge against Eleven and Hawkins.” Vecna? Upside-Down? Unknown realities? VR? Count us in, Tender Claws. With outlandish powers that let you invade the minds of others and extract their memories and abilities, you will set out and plot your revenge against both Eleven and the unknowing citizens of Hawkins. As Vecna, or Henry Creel, you will be tasked with constructing the Hive Mind-a collective consciousness dominated by an all-seeing evil. Just to echo, Stranger Things VR will take place across both the Upside-Down, and the town of Hawkins, and will serve as a prequel to the events of Stranger Things 4. In the former, users will experience the events that took form prior to Henry Creel’s transformation into Vecna and the Hive Mind, whereas the present will accommodate a timeline that lets you plunge into the minds of Hawkins’ most iconic characters. Going by what’s been shown to date, Stranger Things VR will be split between two timelines - the past, and the present. As players, you will be tasked with delving deep inside the minds of the people of Hawkins, and with your power to extract and preserve core memories, plot your revenge against Eleven and those who fall under her wing. So, what is this VR adaptation of the beloved Netflix series, and how will it compare to the mobile iteration that rolled out just a couple of years back? Well, to put you in the picture, Stranger Things VR is a (you guessed it) psychological horror virtual reality game set in the Upside-Down - from Vecna’s perspective, of all people. Stranger Things VR: just what is it, and how will it tie in with the kids over in Hawkins? Let’s talk. Tidy.Īnyway, with the news well and truly out in the open, what more is there to tell ahead of the game’s launch? Well, if you’re even the slightest bit interested in Netflix’s powerhouse poster child, then be sure to read on. Stranger Things is almost like a messy concoction of many fine ingredients, with the main theme being sci-fi and thriller, with a strong dose of mystery and some horror, ultimately giving tribute to legends like H.P Lovecraft, Steven Spielberg and Stephen king.Just when I thought I had finally managed to nudge Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” to the Upside-Down of my subconscious mind, the Meta Quest Showcase only went and happened - once again adding another layer to the ever-popular world of Stranger Things. Only this time, it’s a VR game, and going by the details left out to dry by Zuckerberg and crew, it’ll be heading to Meta Quest 2 and “all major VR platforms” later this year. So while Stranger Things is a good show which deserves to be successful, its hype is overblown by gargantuan proportions. It is not until the fourth season that we get any sort of redemption, because season 4 is simply awesome. The second season is whatever and the third season outright sucks. In fact, the first season is brilliant, but after that it just messes up bad. And if you want to say that Stranger Things is all about the power of that sweet friendship, love and courage then sorry to say, but you have other movies like Lord Of The Rings which do that a lot better.įurthermore, a big chunk of the show seems to survive on 80s nostalgia, with all its American pop culture references, and for that part of the audience which was neither born in the 80s, nor is American, such a crucial aspect of the show is going to make little difference.Īgain, it is not that Stranger Things is a bad show, it is actually pretty good. Probably the biggest problem here is that the entire show seems to ride on Eleven’s powers. There is some Lovecraftian monster who appears from a parallel universe into the town of Hawkins, because a gate between the two dimensions exists there.Īll this happens whilst teenage kids fight the monsters, and one of them has psychic powers, and ultimately they all survive the horror through the power of friendship, or whatever. Most of the time, Stranger things has the same plot. While definitely a good show, it simply does not meet its reputation as being ‘one of the greatest horror/mystery shows of all time’. There are many shows out there which do not meet their online hype, but the one show which is one of the biggest victims of being overhyped and ultimately being overrated is Stranger Things.

But what I liked in each of these, was how there are multiple paths in every, single, stage. Here, you have to infiltrate three separate airships where there are mid-bosses for each. There are 14 levels, each with their own style and design, with Sky Battalion being a highlight for me. The voice-acting is uneven at best, and mixed with the story, feels almost jarring for a fast-paced platformer that’s inspired by the classic Sonic games. Again, this reminded me of ‘Sonic Adventure’, another Sonic game where it found its inspiration from in this mode. When you first start the game, you have the choice of playing through ‘Classic’ mode, which is just a linear path of level to level, or ‘Adventure’ mode, where you can follow the drawn-out story if you wish.Īdventure mode is full of the cut-scenes, and even with voice acting too. Carol can spin-attack alongside being able to climb up walls. Lilac can double-jump and also perform an air dash, alongside being able to jump on platforms, a-la Mega Man X2 style. They each have their own abilities: Milla can generate a shield and also use her ears to fly up the stage at any moment. You can control three characters Milla, Lilac and Carol. But, the main gist is a big-bad called ‘Lord Arktivus Brevon’, where there’s a conflict on the planet of Avalice, and with the character you’ve chosen, you’ve been tasked to find a relic called the ‘Kingdom Stone’. Just to get to the point regarding the story it’s incredibly convoluted, and when I was reading some opinions, it was almost compared to the complicatedness of Metal Gear Solid 2’s story. Lead Rubber Bearings are the most widely used technology in seismic base. A lead-rubber bearing is formed of a lead plug force- fitted into a pre-formed hole in an elastomeric bearing. It reduces seismic energy transmitted to buildings, in highly seismic prone areas. This base isolation system provides the combined features of vertical load support, horizontal flexibility, restoring force, and damping in a single unit. In this study, we present the dynamic behavior of a high-rise RC building with dynamic isolators (lead-rubber-bearing), in comparison with a traditional shear. ( The City). We expect follow-ups, mainstream media! There are lots of cameras near the U.N., remember? Here's the latest reminder not to necessarily trust the first report put out by the NYPD after a crash: The initial NYPD sheet on Monday said that a Revel scooter operator fell off his ride on First Avenue and only then was run over by an innocent driver - but later, it turned out that the SUV driver was drunk ( NYDN, NY Post, amNY).Some jerk left a Citi Bike on the subway tracks. It's weirder knowing that he ranked polar opposites Maya Wiley first and Eric Adams second. You know East Side traffic must be bad when British prime minister Boris Johnson decides to speed walk to the UN with his security detail. Mayor? We suppose that's too much to expect from an administration that needs someone to die before fixing a notorious street.īut you've been warned: stay away from the entire East Side of Manhattan ( NY Post) or follow the lead of former London Mayor Boris Johnson, who knows what to do in our city ( and his own): Think about what "Gridlock Alert" really means: It means that the city has no plan to properly manage the out-of-town drivers who brutalize our neighborhoods and force everyone outside their car to just deal with it. And while Hudson Square has a well-funded business improvement district, what of the other neighborhoods in the city where the Department of Transportation is merely waving the white flag of "Gridlock Alert" tweets rather than actually restricting the entry of cars into the city on certain days (as our editor pointed out in his still-scintillating Daily News op-ed the other day)? But it's supposed to be the city's job to protect us from gridlock, not make us fend for ourselves. Certainly, we think it's great that a group of citizens (in this case, the business community in the way West Village) wants to protect vulnerable road users. Meanwhile, someone is doing something: the Hudson Square BID announced on Monday that it would once again deploy its "pedestrian safety managers" (aka adult crossing guards) all week during the evening rush at key intersections on Varick Street (Houston, King, Charlton, Vandam, Spring and Clarkson). It's another "Gridlock Alert Day," which means it's another day for the city Department of Transportation to surrender. With UNCOLORED Pardo translucent, there are two versions of the clay, Translucent and Agate. This is Fimo Effect Colored Translucent Polymer Clay. The top row is baked, and the bottom row is unbaked. Oddly enough, they don’t include orange in their range. But they are good, standard, useful colors in the classic primary and secondary colors. Fimo Effect isn’t the clearest of translucent clays, so that means its colored translucents aren’t terribly clear, either. Fimo Effectįimo’s line of special effects clay, called Fimo Effect, includes a range of translucent colors. They’re present in regular clay as well, but since colored translucent polymer clay is often dark in color, they’re even more visible (and annoying). While air bubbles and plaques are different things (and have different causes), they are both equally annoying. Plaques are circular flaws visible in baked clay that formed from trapped gases as the clay cured. Air Bubbles and PlaquesĪir bubbles are pockets of air that have been trapped in the clay by improper conditioning or handling. But they will never have the flat, dull opacity of regular opaque colors. Very dark colors, like Cernit Translucent Blue, will be very difficult to see through, even when quite thin. Light colors won’t show much impact on their translucency, but intense and dark colors will. The color that’s been added to colored translucent polymer clay will slightly reduce the translucency of that color. Sometimes very dramatically! Color Reduces Translucency In other words, unbaked colored translucent polymer clay appears pastel colored, but after baking the color darkens and intensifies. While this white color is not due to white pigment, it can still make the unbaked clay appear like the tint of a color. After baking, the “whiteness” disappears and the clay becomes more translucent. Translucent polymer clay, in the block, appears white or buff colored. Since colored translucent polymer clay does use a translucent base, these colored clays will behave more like the uncolored translucents than the colored opaque clays in the brand. For example, Cernit Translucent is known for being particularly taffy-like and gooey, especially when fresh. Since translucent polymer clays generally use a different base than the corresponding opaque clay lines, they often behave slightly differently. You can learn more about that here, and see a comparison of several different materials in translucent Premo polymer clay.īy the way, to learn more about polymer clay in general, head over to the Translucent Polymer Clay FAQ. Several brands of polymer clay have a full range of colored translucent polymer clay.īefore I get into the specifics of specifically colored translucent polymer clay brands, let me mention that you can color regular translucent clay any color that you’d like by adding various colorants (such as regular clay, paint, ink, pigment, glitter, and more). But translucent polymer clay doesn’t have to be neutral-colored. You can see a comparison of major brands here, demonstrating their relative clarity. Most (but not all) brands of polymer clay have a translucent clay in their line. Translucent polymer clay is similar to regular, colored polymer clay except that it is made with a base that turns more clear when it’s baked. When powering your delicate electronics, it is best to use a pure sine wave inverter instead of a modified sine wave inverter for cleaner and more reliable power. You will be able to easily run modern television sets along with an accessory or two (game console, DVD player, etc.) with an inverter with 800 peak watts. What Size Inverter do I Need to Run a TV with a Deep-Cycle Battery? Finally, I’ll look at what two 6-volt GC2 golf cart batteries could do if hooked in series with a rating of 215 amp-hours.ģ. I’ll also take three 12-volt flooded batteries with 105, 90, and 65 amp-hour ratings. In the examples that we will be using, I’ll be looking at three 12-volt AGM (absorbed glass mat) batteries with 100, 80, and 55 amp-hours. Don’t worry, we’ll get to that in a minute. However, the higher the draw, the lower the AH rating. For instance, a 100AH battery should be able to give 1 amp per hour for 100 hours, or 2 amps per hour for 50 hours. Without getting complicated, the amp-hour (AH) rating gives an idea to the user about the capacity of the battery. Of course, you’ll find some deep-cycle batteries with far more and far less than the rates mentioned above. Deep-cycle batteries typically come in sizes of 100, 90, 80, 65, and 55 amp-hour ratings. They have thicker lead plates with less surface area to allow for a longer and slower discharge. The term “deep-cycle” refers to the internal design and chemistry of the battery regarding its use and not its amp-hour capacity. How many Amp Hours Does a Deep Cycle Battery Have? In the examples that we’re going to use, I’ll be picking TV’s with watt ratings of 20, 50, and 150.Ģ. Plasma TV’s, which are also antiquated in the developed world, are energy hogs and will run 150 watts to 300 watts easily. LED TV’s will generally use about ⅔ less energy than an LCD TV of the same dimensions.ĬRT TV’s, which lost popularity in the developed world over a decade ago, will run anywhere from 65 watts to 120 watts from a 15” to a 24” screen. Trust me, once you get it, you’re going to be testing different things around your house out of curiosity! You can test your TV’s power usage with this nifty device seen here on Amazon. Larger TV’s from 32”-55” will be about 55-150 watts. Medium sized TV’s with 21”-32” screens will run about 26-70 watts. Small TV’s with 15”-20” screens in the LED and LCD categories will use about 15-26 watts. Press and hold the Power button for about 3 seconds. Connect your device to the computer and open iTunes. Since most users are accustomed to the old device they owned, it is not that easy to accept a new iOS version running on their phone especially when the system drags down the speed of their device. To be specific, here are some cases you may need DFU mode for:ĭowngrade iOS. The main reason users need to access iPhone DFU mode is changing or updating the iOS and the firmware on the device. The DFU mode is available on any iOS devices covering all models of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.ĭFU mode is usually only used for advanced purposes. As a consequence, you are able to change the operating system since it is not running yet. Generally, the device is powered on but the operating system has not been started when it is in iPhone DFU mode. It is more integrated comparing to the recovery mode since it can be used to fix more intractable issues. The DFU mode actually means Device Firmware Update, allowing you to make extremely low-level changes to the software running your iOS devices. Simply prepare your computer installed with iTunes, your iPhone and a USB cable before heading to the next paragraphs. In this guide, we will show you the definition of DFU mode, when to use it as well as how to put your iPhone into and out of DFU mode.
